Privacy & Cookies Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or get in touch with us, what we do with it, and what rights you have. We have tried to keep it in plain English.
Who we are
This website is operated by DS Electrical T/A Halesowen Electrical, an electrical contractor based in Halesowen, West Midlands.
We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. That means we are responsible for deciding how it is used.
You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at info@halesowen-electrical.co.uk or by phone on 07771 919 151.
What we collect and why
When you use our contact form
Our contact form asks for your name, your phone number and a description of the job you need doing. We use this only to reply to your enquiry and to quote for the work. We do not use it for marketing and we do not sell it to anyone.
Our lawful basis for this is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.
When you call, text or WhatsApp us
If you contact us directly we will hold whatever you choose to tell us, which is usually your name, contact number and details of the job. Same purpose, same basis as above.
When you browse this website
If you accept analytics cookies we collect anonymised information about how the site is used, such as which pages were viewed and roughly which part of the country the visitor was in. This is aggregated. It does not identify you personally. See the cookies section below.
Who we share it with
We keep this list short on purpose. Your information is shared only with the suppliers who help us run the website and deliver enquiries to us:
| Who | What they do |
|---|---|
| Our website provider | Builds and looks after this website and passes enquiries from the contact form through to us |
| Hosting and email delivery services | Serve the pages to your browser and deliver your enquiry to our inbox |
| Google Analytics | Provides anonymised visitor statistics, only if you accept analytics cookies |
These are established suppliers acting on our instructions under contract. They are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes. If you would like to know exactly who they are, just email us and we will tell you.
Some of these suppliers are based outside the UK. Where that happens, your information is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never pass it to other tradespeople, lead generation companies or directories.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become jobs: we keep these for as long as we need them to follow up on, and we review them from time to time. If you would like yours removed sooner, just ask and we will delete it.
- Enquiries that become jobs: kept for 6 years after the work is completed. We have to do this for tax records, certification and to honour any guarantee on the work.
- Website analytics: held only in an aggregated form that does not identify you, and deleted automatically by Google after a set period.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. This site uses very few of them.
| Type | What it does | Set without asking? |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we do not keep asking you | Yes, this is required for the site to work as you asked |
| Analytics (Google Analytics) | Counts visits and shows us which pages people look at, so we can improve the site | No. These load only after you press Accept |
Nothing beyond the necessary cookie is loaded until you choose. If you press Reject, no analytics script is downloaded at all and no analytics cookie is created.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of websites generally may stop working properly if you block everything.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- Ask us to restrict or stop using it in certain circumstances
- Object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests
- Withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time
To do any of these, email info@halesowen-electrical.co.uk. We will respond within one month, and it will not cost you anything.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
